Love City Country Music Festival, St John USVI May 2015
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Have you heard that there is a country music event coming to St. John, USVI? Are you ready to two-step, island style? Country will rock the Caribbean at the first ever Love City Country Music Festival to be held 14-16 May 2015 on St. John in the US Virgin Islands.This three-day event, presented by Caneel Bay Resort, will have the island jammin’ to the tunes of national headliners and local bands alike in an all-out country hoedown!
The event kicks off with the official festival beach party at the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands, then boats its way over to St. John in the USVIs for a weekend jam-packed with country. The main stage is at the Winston Wells Ballpark in Cruz Bay, with satellite stages throughout the downtown area.
Headliner Jerrod Niemann released his chart-topping major label first released in 2010 and has produced two platinum singles since: “Lover, Lover” and “Buzz Back Girl.” Special guests include Grammy-nominated Pat Green, Dallas Smith, Sunny Sweeney, Loving Mary, the Down Home Band, platinum selling singer/songwriter Jesse Rice, Travis Meadows, Hit Makers & Rum Chasers Nashville Songwriters Showcase, BMI Country award winner Levi Lowry, the beach country pop of Kaitlyn Weathers and the beach rock reggae of the Wheeland Brothers. More artists will be added.

RECIPE: Catamaran Pisces' Grand Marnier Spoons
Louise Langello, the chef aboard the charter catamaran PISCES, won the culinary contest at the November 2014 VICL Fall Yacht Charter Show in St Thomas with this recipe. It is a savory sweet combination of top sirloin and tropical fruits flavored with the the requisite contest ingredient, Grand Marnier, an orange-flavored cognac liqueur.
GRAND MARNIER SPOONS
Pisces is a 47-foot Leopard catamaran with a crew of two, Stephen and Louise. Pisces is fully air conditioned and accommodates up to 6 guests in three cabins, each with Queen berth and ensuite head/shower. Pisces has a 13-foot dinghy with 25HP motor, tube, kayak, standup paddle board (SUP), snorkel gear, fishing equipment, TV/DVD in salon, iPod, wifi where available, etc.
Steve is a dive master and Pisces offers 3 dives/week for certified divers, with gear included. Additional divers are $25/dive/diver.
Family discount: Children 14 years old and younger receive a $250 discount off standard rates.
GRAND MARNIER SPOONS
Thanks for sharing your recipe, Louise.STEAK MARINADE
- 2 Top sirloin steaks
- 6 tbs Grand Marnier
- 1/4 cup Freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/4 cup Soy sauce
- 3 tbs Honey
- 2 tbs Asian chili sauce
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tbs Finely minced orange zest
- 1/4 cup Finely minced ginger
- 1/4 cup Fresh basil
- 2 Minced green onions
OTHER INGREDIENTS
- 1 Avocado
- 1 Mango
- Plain goat cheese
- Sea salt
- Pepper
DIRECTIONS
- Marinate two top sirloins for 4 hours.
- Take top sirloins out of marinade and set side. Transfer marinade into a small saucepan and simmer on low for 20-25 minutes or until marinade has reduced to 1/3 of its original volume.
- Meanwhile, mash avocado with fork and lightly season with sea salt and pepper. Place a large dollop of mashed avocado on each spoon for bottom layer.
- Cube mango into small pieces.
- Grill steaks to medium rare, then place in foil for 5 minutes.
- Slice the two sirloins into very thin slices. Wrap one piece of steak around one or two small cubes of mango and place it on top of the mashed avocado.
- Top the steak and mango piece with a small cruble of goat cheese.
- Take less than a teaspoon of the marinade reduction and drizzle it over the goat cheese.
- Serve.

The charter yacht Promenade (65-foot trimaran) has two cabins open for their cabin cruise week of February 21-28, 2015. This is a great way to experience a charter on Promenade without having to get a group together.
This is the only charter-by-the-cabin week that Promenade has scheduled for 2015. They are very popular so don't delay... Contact us ASAP.
This is an excellent way for a couple to charter a large, fun boat with all the toys, diving AND fishing, without trying to put together a group with 6 or 8 other people :)
DETAILS:
Excludes: Transportation to and from the yacht, including plane and taxi fares. Crew gratuities which are at your discretion but typically 15% of charter fee. Any meals and beverages you choose to have on shore. You will be responsible for one dinner ashore at your own expense.
Promenade is a fully air conditioned, 65-foot trimaran with a beam of 35 feet, that accommodates up to 10 guests in five cabins. The two forward cabins are Queens and each have private, ensuite head/shower. The aftmost center cabin is a Queen, while the port and starboard aft cabins can be configured as either twins or a king. The aft 3 cabins share 2 heads/showers.
Promenade has a 15-foot dinghy with 50HP motor, waterskis, kneeboard, wakeboard, tube, 2-person kayak, paddleboard on request, 4 water individual power loungers, snorkel gear, fishing equipment (has commercial BVI fishing license), TV/DVD, iPod dock, wifi, and much more!
