Majestic Spirit is fully air conditioned and accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 cabins (3 Queens, 1 Double) each with ensuite head/shower. They have a 15-foot dinghy with 50HP motor, waterskis, tube, kneeboard, wakeboard, 2 one-person kayaks, 2 standup paddleboards (SUPs), snorkel gear, fishing equipment, floating sun cushions, underwater camera and video, hammock, TV/DVD in salon, onboard wifi where available, beach games, etc. 

Majestic Spirit is a fully registered SSI Dive Center/ Dive Boat with two experienced and passionate divers (Instructor & Divemaster). Diving is included in their charter rate: Certified divers: 5 dives/week, gear included. Non-certified divers: 1 resort/discover scuba course.

Getting married in the BVIs British Virgin Islands

Here's a press release we recently received from the Civil Registry & Passport Office of the British Virgin Islands (BVIs) concerning new policies for marriages...

CHANGES TO BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS’ MARRIAGE LAW MAKES DESTINATION WEDDINGS EASIER FOR VISITORS

Tortola, British Virgin Islands, September 13, 2012 – Saying, “I do” just became easier for couples heading to the British Virgin Islands (BVI) for their nuptials: Brides and grooms can now get married 24 hours after arriving to the Territory!

On September 3, the BVI Government made significant changes by amending the Marriage Act (Cap 272): Residency requirements for ‘Special Licence’ were shortened from three (3) days to one (1) day, a new fee schedule was introduced, and the steps to obtain a licence were all transferred to the Civil Registry for a ‘One Stop Shop’ process.

Couples even have the choice of beginning their wedding application online before arriving in the BVI, by submitting their information through the Government’s new Civil Registry Information System (CRIS) at www.crisvi.gov.vg.

Prior to the improvements made to the Act, couples were tasked with stopping at three different locations to obtain the necessary documentation for the marriage licence application. Through these new changes, couples can complete the entire process at the Civil Registry where they will provide proof of their identity (passport) and marital status (original certified copies of Decree(s) Absolute for divorced spouses or original Death Certificate(s) of deceased spouse(s); apply for their licence, obtain a marriage certificate and present two witnesses.

The Special Licence fee is $220 and the Ordinary Licence is $120.

Additional fees are applicable based on the bride and groom’s wedding specifications: $220 for the Registrar-General or marriage officer to perform the ceremony, $120 for the ceremony to be held in the Civil Registry building and $25 for a certified copy of the marriage licence.

In the BVI, couples have many options for getting married and locations abound for conducting wedding ceremonies that are representative of the couple’s personality and style. The stunning group of islands and cays offer idyllic backdrops such as beaches, churches, yachts, hotels, villas, resorts, private islands, historic ruins, national parks, the Civil Registry, and many more to suit their tastes. To apply in person for a marriage licence or any service surrounding the subject of marriage, please visit the Civil Registry and Passport Office, which is located upstairs of Burhym Electrical Services in Wickham’s Cay, Road Town, Tortola. The sailing vessel AURORA is a 67-foot Ron Holland-designed sloop with a crew of two, Rich & Sam. When friends asked Rich to legally marry them on board, he became an ordained minister in the Universal Life Church, so if you’re considering a combination wedding and honeymoon, look no further than Aurora and Rich.

Aurora is fully air conditioned and accommodates up to 5 guests in two cabins, each with color TV/DVD, and ensuite heads.  The full-width master cabin, aft, has a walkaround Queen bed, while the other guest cabin has a large double bed with a single berth above. Charter Yacht Flame - Cruise the Virgin Islands

The motoryacht FLAME is one of our favorite charter yachts in the Virgin Islands. Wayne & Barbara, owner-operators of Flame, have been chartering for 20-plus years and they still enjoy sharing their boat and the islands with their guests. Jacob, the ship's cat has been aboard for about 5 years now, and is much loved by all.

Way back when they discovered Flame, she was in quite a state of disrepair (fire damaged as I recall, hence the name "Flame") but it was love at first sight. Flame's restoration and reconfiguration took a full three years and they did all the work themselves. Their love for their home truly shows with the meticulous upkeep and maintenance they bestow upon her.  A very fine vessel, indeed.

In the summer months when they are not chartering, they restore antique speedboats (classic mahogany Chris Crafts and Gar Woods) and cars, as well as remodelling and landscaping their place up in New England. Busy folks while on vacation...

Charter Yacht FLAME

Barb from the charter motor yacht FLAME, wrote to us recently and sent us some new photos that we would like to share with you.

As many of you know, Josh their ship's cat for many years, passed away just before last Christmas. Flame seemed empty without him, so enters Jacob...


"Jacob is a fabulous charter cat. He really does the balance of entertainer, but not too much in your face charter host. We are very pleased and our guests have adored him. It's been a nice season!"


FLAME finishes their charter season soon and they will be heading north to spend time at their home in New England. This will be little Jacob's first time visiting the landbased homestead. We'd love to see his expression the first time he sees a squirrel.

Wayne is now licensed to pefrorm weddings! He presided over his first wedding ceremony this spring on St. John, US Virgin Islands.


"Wayne did his first wedding (but it was on shore) and it was a big success. I was very nervous but could not have been prouder. He wrote the ceremony (except for the vows) and it was both sentimental and humourous. I found it VERY humourous to be introduced to the bride's family as the Rev's wife! HA! Never thought I'd be described that way!"
