Hi Sheila and Bob,
We just got back from a wonderful week of sailing. The boat was excellent and Richard and Denise were delightful. We had an excellent time. You can recommend CONTESSA without any reservations. Thanks for the connection and hope to do it again (before 60!).
Warm regards from NYC,
Mario

CHARTER YACHT DRUMBEAT - Guest Comments - Sail & Dive Virgin Islands

Once again, more GREAT comments from charterers aboard the charter yacht DRUMBEAT. Thanks Vince, Linda, and Kurt for everything. We knew you would give Tim & the gang an excellent sailing vacation but it is nice to have it reaffirmed again and again.

Tim mentioned that they chartered five years ago. It was with a boat that we choose not to book as it does not meet our standards. Notice in Tim's comments that this trip aboard Drumbeat was "the first time the six of us actually sailed".... Makes you wonder about the boat they chartered before... You'd be surprised how many boats don't want to sail and do not enjoy it... In our opinion, they are in the wrong business. As I said, we do not offer Tim's previous charter boat for many reasons.

YACHT: DRUMBEAT – VIRGIN ISLANDS
CHARTER: TIM E.
DATE: MARCH 1-8, 2008

Hi Sheila and Bob.

Sorry not to get back to you earlier, but as you can imagine it has been crazy since returning from our trip. Below please see the responses to your questionnaire regarding our charter experience.

We absolutely enjoyed the hell out of our trip. Having had this experience back in 2003, I had some comparison points and I can tell you Vince, Linda and Kurt beat those expectations beyond my wildest dreams. Our friends were so delighted with the trip, they want to go back again as soon as we can all save the money. Both couples agreed this was a trip of a life time, the best vacation they ever experienced.

The crew was more than helpful - they waited on us hand and foot. The women tried to make the beds one morning and Kurt had already taken care of it. Kurt was always two steps ahead of the well intensioned wives, who felt compelled to help (they are not used to relaxing like we did). The crew was friendly and engaging, but disappeared when it was "Our time". They were so unintrusive when we as couples were relaxing, snorkeling, diving or exploring, it seemed like we had the whole BVI to ourselves. GREAT GREAT crew.

The yacht was very comfortable and well maintained. The crew was conscience of keeping things neat and cleaned up. The meals were nothing short of "Five Star". All the wives wanted recipes for Linda's meals. The food was so good, breakfast, lunch, dinners and deserts. Everyone commented on how much food was served at each meal! We were never hungry - just always full!! The happy hours and snacks at night were also fabulous. Plenty of wine was had by all at dinner time to compliment the "Five Star" meals.

One of the best things (all agreed on this) was the sailing! The winds were just great for sailing and the crew seemed to love sailing as much as we did! It was the first time the six of us have actually sailed and it made fans out of all of us.

We as a group were very satisfied and impressed with the service Sheila and Bob at Paradise Connections Yacht Charters provided. You were timely with all correspondence and responsive to all our needs, right down to the trip cancellation insurance. The wives felt very comfortable with the contact information you provided - it was great. If we can save enough money to do this again, we would use no one else except you and Bob. You guys were GREAT! We would also use the Drumbeat crew and no one else!!

We did stay at a hotel the night before we got on the boat. We stayed at the Best Western Carib - it was alright for one night and affordable.

You can use us as a reference for Vince, Linda and Kurt - THE BEST CREW IN THE BVI. You should be able to tell by the tone of this letter, we had a GREAT, GREAT time. Hopefully we will keep in touch and down the road if we can raise the cash, we will be back at you. Thanks again for all your efforts and steering us to Drumbeat.

All the best to you and Bob. Thank You - T.E.
Drumbeat is a 65/72-foot Irwin ketch with an excellent crew of three. Drumbeat is fully air conditioned and accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 double cabins. Vince is a dive instructor and one dive/day is included in their rates for certified and non-certified divers (resort course included).
  • Drumbeat will be available for charter through the summer 2008 in the Virgin Islands. AND

MATAU : 75-foot catamaran for Med and Caribbean yacht charters

MATAU, a 75-foot catamaran, is a new addition to the yacht charter fleet.

Matau accommodates up to eight guests in four luxurious staterooms and will be available for yacht charters in the Mediterranean for Summer 2008 and will return to the Caribbean for charters for the Winter 2008/9 season.

Charter yacht Matau - 75-foot Privilege Catamaran

When you step inside MATAU, you will notice that her stunning d├ęcor has more than a dash of art deco style with pale wood, white leather upholstery and sophisticated black and red accents. The perfect setting for cosmopolitans and martinis with Noel Coward songs playing in the background.

Four very spacious cabins (3 Queens & 1 King) accommodate up to eight guests in full comfort. The ensuite baths feature twin vessel sinks and separate stall showers.

Exceptional is the word for the king-bedded master stateroom. Its en suite bath, as large as one of the guest cabins, offers the luxury of a full-size jacuzzi tub.

There are so many choices on deck – the trampolines, aft deck, bridge deck, the “teak beach”, and broad aft steps (very easy water access!) – that everyone will quickly find their own favorite spot for sunning and relaxing.

Captain Brett Clarke and his wife, Chef Andrea, are very excited about chartering in the Mediterranean this summer and look forward to welcoming guests aboard this very special yacht.

MOONSPLASH 2008 Bankie Banx Anguilla Dune Preserve

Bankie Banx, the Eastern Caribbean's pioneer of reggae music, hosts the Moonsplash Music Festival each year on Anguilla.

This year's Moonsplash runs March 27-30, 2008 at Bankie Banx's Dune Preserve on the Caribbean island of Anguilla (just north of St. Martin / Sint Maarten).

Moonsplash has become much more than a weekend party. People plan their vacations to Anguilla around it.

Looking for accommodations? How about a yacht charter?

Jet Blue and Spirit airlines, along with major airlines fly into St. Maarten (SXM).

Meet your boat in St. Maarten, and make the short sail up to Anguilla to attend Moonsplash. Afterwards, you might enjoy cruising on over to St. Barths stopping at various spots along the French coast of St. Martin on the way.

Last year, we sailed over to Anguilla to attend the Jimmy Buffett concert and had a wonderful time. What a wonderful venue for a concert of this type.

Check out the concert video on Amazon.com... CLICK THIS LINK!

A double CD and an 82 minute DVD were recorded LIVE at the Dune Preserve, Rendezvous Bay in Anguilla, in Bankie Banx's backyard and the site of famous Moonsplash Festivals. The CDs include 30 songs, all of your favorites, plus some special in-concert rarities like Domino College, Waiting In Vain, When Salome Plays the Drum, King of Somewhere Hot, Treat Her Like A Lady, and Distantly In Love. The DVD was recorded in High Definition and is in Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound. Check out the video on Amazon.com!
