Once again, more GREAT comments from charterers aboard the charter yacht DRUMBEAT. Thanks Vince, Linda, and Kurt for everything. We knew you would give Tim & the gang an excellent sailing vacation but it is nice to have it reaffirmed again and again.
Tim mentioned that they chartered five years ago. It was with a boat that we choose not to book as it does not meet our standards. Notice in Tim's comments that this trip aboard Drumbeat was "the first time the six of us actually sailed".... Makes you wonder about the boat they chartered before... You'd be surprised how many boats don't want to sail and do not enjoy it... In our opinion, they are in the wrong business. As I said, we do not offer Tim's previous charter boat for many reasons.
YACHT: DRUMBEAT – VIRGIN ISLANDS
CHARTER: TIM E.
DATE: MARCH 1-8, 2008
Hi Sheila and Bob.Drumbeat is a 65/72-foot Irwin ketch with an excellent crew of three. Drumbeat is fully air conditioned and accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 double cabins. Vince is a dive instructor and one dive/day is included in their rates for certified and non-certified divers (resort course included).
Sorry not to get back to you earlier, but as you can imagine it has been crazy since returning from our trip. Below please see the responses to your questionnaire regarding our charter experience.
We absolutely enjoyed the hell out of our trip. Having had this experience back in 2003, I had some comparison points and I can tell you Vince, Linda and Kurt beat those expectations beyond my wildest dreams. Our friends were so delighted with the trip, they want to go back again as soon as we can all save the money. Both couples agreed this was a trip of a life time, the best vacation they ever experienced.
The crew was more than helpful - they waited on us hand and foot. The women tried to make the beds one morning and Kurt had already taken care of it. Kurt was always two steps ahead of the well intensioned wives, who felt compelled to help (they are not used to relaxing like we did). The crew was friendly and engaging, but disappeared when it was "Our time". They were so unintrusive when we as couples were relaxing, snorkeling, diving or exploring, it seemed like we had the whole BVI to ourselves. GREAT GREAT crew.
The yacht was very comfortable and well maintained. The crew was conscience of keeping things neat and cleaned up. The meals were nothing short of "Five Star". All the wives wanted recipes for Linda's meals. The food was so good, breakfast, lunch, dinners and deserts. Everyone commented on how much food was served at each meal! We were never hungry - just always full!! The happy hours and snacks at night were also fabulous. Plenty of wine was had by all at dinner time to compliment the "Five Star" meals.
One of the best things (all agreed on this) was the sailing! The winds were just great for sailing and the crew seemed to love sailing as much as we did! It was the first time the six of us have actually sailed and it made fans out of all of us.
We as a group were very satisfied and impressed with the service Sheila and Bob at Paradise Connections Yacht Charters provided. You were timely with all correspondence and responsive to all our needs, right down to the trip cancellation insurance. The wives felt very comfortable with the contact information you provided - it was great. If we can save enough money to do this again, we would use no one else except you and Bob. You guys were GREAT! We would also use the Drumbeat crew and no one else!!
We did stay at a hotel the night before we got on the boat. We stayed at the Best Western Carib - it was alright for one night and affordable.
You can use us as a reference for Vince, Linda and Kurt - THE BEST CREW IN THE BVI. You should be able to tell by the tone of this letter, we had a GREAT, GREAT time. Hopefully we will keep in touch and down the road if we can raise the cash, we will be back at you. Thanks again for all your efforts and steering us to Drumbeat.
All the best to you and Bob. Thank You - T.E.
