It's a new year, who’s ready to go sailing?

We hope your new year is off to a good start. We believe 2021 will be an improvement.

We are thankful, now more than ever, for your business and support. We appreciate your patience, adaptability, and encouragement through all the uncertainty and challenges of the past year. We know many of you have had to reschedule vacations that you have planned, saved up for, and looked forward to for a long time.

For those of you who are looking forward to sailing this Spring, we would suggest a charter that takes place within the US Virgin Islands as this will be the most hassle-free choice.

COVID

Entry to the US Virgin Islands is pretty straightforward. Basically, all travelers to the USVI (5 years of age or older) must register with the USVI Travel Screening Portal and have a negative Covid test to board the plane. A further test is not necessary to return to the mainland USA unless your state requires it. See more information HERE.

The BVI's are are currently a bit more complicated. To summarize, you must fly into Beef Island as it is not currently possible to fly into the USVI and take a ferry over. First, download the BVI Gateway app and gain approval prior to entry via the online BVI Portal. All travelers to the BVI must take a covid test within 5 days before travel, a second test upon arrival (day 0), and a third test on day 4. Quarantine for 4 days on the yacht in approved anchorages. Wear a tracking bracelet. Pay $175/person to cover these costs. You can learn more HERE. Plus, if you are returning to the USA you will need to have a negative covid test within 3 days of your flight.

We have a yacht in Belize, Dreaming On, that has been awarded the Tourism Gold Standard and is available for charter. Read about the covid-19 protocols for Belize HERE.

We also have information for the Bahamas HERE.

Note: The USA requires international travelers to get tested no more than 3 days before their flight and show their negative result to the airline before boarding their flight. Travelers from the US Virgin Islands and other U.S. Territories are exempt.

Cheap flights to US Virgin Islands : MIA/STT

We would like to share information we received concerning cheap flights to the USVI which appear to be valid for flights through May 2021:

From the Travelzoo Newsdesk

Miami to St. Thomas This Winter, $113 (Yes, Roundtrip!)

By Jonathan Jones

Flights from Miami to St. Thomas (it's in the U.S. Virgin Islands, so you can leave your passport at home) have dropped to the lowest price we've seen — $113 roundtrip on American, including rarely discounted winter travel dates. It saves more than $100 on the typical price for this route.

When: Select dates through May

This fare includes a waived change fee for bookings made by Jan. 31 on American Airlines. Also, this fare is not part of an official sale and the price may change at any time. We recommend booking now to lock in this deal.

That's cheaper than inter-island flights :)

The US Virgin Islands re-opened their borders to leisure tourists on September 19, 2020. Entry to the USVI is relatively easy. All travelers aged five and older entering the U.S. Virgin Islands are required to use the USVI Travel Screening Portal and submit a COVID-19 test result prior to arrival. Read more about the USVI's covid protocols.
