Christmas 2020 Crewed Yacht Charters in US Virgin Islands

We've had many holiday yacht charter inquiries recently so we are posting a list of charter yachts currently available for Christmas charters within the US Virgin Islands.

The US Virgin Islands re-opened their borders to leisure tourists on September 19, 2020. Entry to the USVI is relatively easy. All travelers aged five and older entering the U.S. Virgin Islands are required to use the USVI Travel Screening Portal and submit a COVID-19 test result prior to arrival. The yachts below have American crew and are legal to carry out charters within the US Virgin Islands.
 
In general, Christmas charters have a 7-night minimum and are to end by December 26th this year. A few boats have possibilities for ending on the 27, 28, and 29th. There are also a few boats that allow for shorter charters.

UPDATE: US Virgin Islands Covid-19 Travel Restrictions

Governor Bryan Issues New Restrictions For Travel and More

During Governor Albert Bryan's Thursday coronavirus press briefing he announced that effective immediately all bars in the territory are ordered closed, including bars located at restaurants, though restaurants are allowed to continue operating. Beaches will close at 4:00 p.m. on the weekends and holidays until further notice. Also, all retail facilities in the U.S. Virgin Islands are barred from selling alcohol after 11:00 p.m. Gaming centers and casinos are closed as well.

Concerning travel to the US Virgin Islands, Gov. Bryan announced seven additional states to his original hot spot list. The new list now includes states with a 10% positivity rate or higher. These states are: Arizona, Mississippi, Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Nevada, Idaho, Kansas, and Puerto Rico.

For passengers coming from these states, Gov. Bryan said a coronavirus test showing a negative result must be provided to local officials. The test must be conducted within five days, an expansion to Monday's order which called for tests to be conducted within 72 hours before the traveler's arrival to the territory. These tests will be required for travelers age 15 or older.

Protocols for Limetree Bay refinery and storage terminal employees on St. Croix have also been updated.

Mass gatherings of 50 people or more are discouraged.

Should the territory's positive cases continue to increase next week, the governor said his team is looking at the possibility of stopping hotel reservations again and going back to the “Safer at Home” designation.

The Governor said "Please, the virus is alive and it's in our community, let's stop the spread,"

US Virgin Islands Covid-19 Travel Restrictions

USVI Governor Bryan Issues Travel Restrictions For Individuals Traveling From Arizona, Florida, and Texas


Governor Albert Bryan Jr. said during his weekly COVID-19 update that beginning Monday, July 13, 2020 individuals who are residents of, or whose travel to the territory originated in Arizona, Florida, or Texas must present test results showing they are negative for COVID-19 or positive for COVID-19 antibodies upon their arrival into the territory.

Tests should be taken within 72 hours of arriving in the U.S. Virgin Islands or visitors can opt to take a test when they arrive. Individuals who do not show test results or take a test locally must go into a 14-day quarantine.

The Governor said the policy applies to residents of the three states on the list, or to individuals who have spent more than 7 days prior to travel to the territory in any of those states, and not to travelers who are passing through, such as to change planes in Fort Lauderdale or Miami.

After two weeks, the new travel policy will be reassessed to determine whether states need to be added to or removed from the list.

The current industry standard for Christmas and New Year's charter weeks incur a 10-15% holiday surcharge on standard rates or have a flat fee for a full-boat charter, i.e. $25,000 for up to 8 guests.

The following yachts DO NOT have a holiday premium for all-inclusive, crewed Christmas charters. Their charters are available at standard rates.

About Catamaran Rumba

Rumba is a 52-foot Lagoon catamaran with a crew of two. Rumba is fully air conditioned and accommodates up to 10 guests in 5 cabins. The 4 Queen cabins each have a private ensuite head (sink, shower stall, electric-flush toilet) and the Twin cabin's (upper/lower bunk berths) ensuite head has sink, electric-flush toilet, and wet shower (no stall). There's a lot of room on this boat with exterior lounge areas on the flybridge, aft cockpit, plus the foredeck sitting area with nice awning.
