From the lush tropical rainforest of St Vincent that are full of eco-adventures, to the idyllic beaches, coral reefs and turquoise lagoons of the Grenadines, SVG is a tropical paradise for sailing, scuba diving, enjoying nature, and relaxing in seclusion. Bali catamarans are known and appreciated for their rigid front cockpits with lounge and sunbathing areas, the aft platform connecting the two sugarscoop transoms having a large bench seat and lockers, the large tilt-and-turn door opening the salon to the aft deck plus sliding salon windows, as well as a panoramic relaxation area up on the flybridge.

These catamarans are fully air conditioned and accommodate up to 8 guests in 4 Queen cabins, each with private ensuite head including sink/vanity, shower, and electric-flush toilet. The two cabins in the starboard hull have separate stall showers. There is direct access from the salon to the forward cockpit lounge area.

Due to a cancellation, AUGUST MAVERICK is now available for a last minute charter from July 25-August 4, 2022. The yacht will be located in Maine and exact ports will depend on dates

August Maverick is a 92-foot pilothouse cutter custom built by Stephens Yachts and is owner-operated with a crew of three. The yacht is fully air conditioned and accommodates up to 8 guests in 3 cabins. The large master cabin (aft) has a walkaround, centerline King berth, TV/DVD, and his & her heads, each has a sink/vanity and electric-flush toilet and a shared shower in between. Forward of the master cabin, there are two midship guest cabins. They each have twin berths (not bunks) with an overhead pullman and ensuite head with sink/vanity and electric-flush toilet. One has a tub, while the other has a stand-up shower. 

The spacious salon is air conditioned and well appointed with dining on the starboard side and lounge to port. There is also a lovely bar. Up the companionway there is a large air-conditioned pilot house with seating and a bar, all offering a 360-degree view. The pilot house has opening windows and the aft wall removes if clients prefer open air. The aft deck offers table and chairs under the large sun awning and is a great place for sunbathing. August Maverick is a baby-friendly boat, any age is fine. A baby crib and secure table-mounted chair are available.

August Maverick has a 14-foot dinghy with 50HP motor, adult waterskis, kneeboard, wakeboard, tube, 4 standup paddleboards (SUPs), 2 one-person kayaks, snorkel gear, floating mats, variety of water toys, beach games, fishing gear, underwater camera, hammock, board games, library, TV/DVD in salon, no wifi - use phone data or hotspots, etc. August Maverick offers diving (see link below for details).

British Virgin Islands & Covid-19

BVI drops Covid-19 entry test

 

From a press release issued today, 14 July 2022, the Minister for Health and Social Development announced that effective Friday July 15th, persons visiting the [British] Virgin Islands will no longer be required to present a negative Covid-19 test to gain entry.

The Cabinet of the Virgin Islands passed an amendment to the Covid-19 Control and Suppression (Entry of Persons) Regulation on July 13th that revokes Covid-19 testing requirements.

Minister for Health and Social Development Honourable Marlon Penn said that further relaxation of the Covid-19 Suppression measures is based on the reduced impact of the disease and the move from pandemic to endemic.

Honourable Penn said, “Currently the statistics are revealing that the virus is having a very minimal impact on those affected and the mortality rates have decreased significantly. That is why we feel at this stage we can re-open the borders and return to pre-COVID normal with regards to travel to the Territory.”

The Minister for Health is further urging persons to remain vigilant and continue to practice good hand hygiene and wear a mask when in questionable environments to reduce the risk of exposure.

The Covid-19 BVI Travel Requirements, updated on June 24, 2022, announced:

 

Effective 15th June, 2022, travelers, regardless of their vaccination status are no longer required to register and apply to enter the Territory via the BVI Gateway Travel Application Portal. Provision of evidence of travel insurance is also no longer required.
