News from URSA MINOR

This morning we received an email from Judy & Bryan of the sailboat Ursa Minor. Some of you might have chartered with them...

I'm finally caught up to date on blog entries, through today in Bora Bora. There are several new entries plus lots of new photo albums on the last page of the photo gallery. Tomorrow we leave for Suwarrow Atoll, also known as Suvarov, in the northern Cook Islands, about a 5 day passage away. It is a small atoll, a national park of the Cooks, with only 1caretaker family resident for about 6 months of the year. We're really looking forward to a place so remote and uninhabited after several months in French Polynesia. This has been a delightful experience, and Bryan especially is going to miss having wonderful French baguettes almost daily, but it will be nice to see a more basic form of island life as well. After Suwarrow, we'll have a 2 or 3 day passage to American Samoa, then start working our way north through Kiribati and across the equator Marshalls to wait out the South Pacific cyclone season

BARGES: BROCHURES

Being sick this past week has given me the time to do some work on our website. I created a special page (http://www.paradiseconnections.com/barges.html) to access the various barge brochures, rather than accessing them from the "More Yachts and Rates" page.

I also created an electronic brochure for the French barge, LA BELLE EPOQUE, which cruises the Nivernais canal in the Bourgogne / Burgundy region of France between Auxerre (meet in Paris) and Clamecy.



The 12/13 passenger La Belle Epoque is a state-of-the art luxury hotel barge and sistership to L'impressionniste. La Belle Epoque has been designed with both elegance and passenger comfort in mind, and offers a sun-deck spa pool, chartroom, wood paneled saloon and dining room, together with other luxury facilities, all fully air-conditioned.

The spacious cabins offer a choice of twin or double beds, with marble en-suite facilities. The Captain leads a crew of five, comprising Master Chef, Tour guide, HouseKeeper and Stewardess.

Besides their standard itinerary, theme cruises are available for full-boat charters (book the boat for your group of 10-13 people). Theme cruises are: Family, Cycling, Walking, Wine.

2007 availability:

• Oct. 15 - five cabins
• Oct. 21 - three cabins
• Oct. 28 - six cabins
• Nov. 4, 11 - six cabins

CHRISTMAS : Loch Ness, Scotland aboard barge SCOTTISH HIGHLANDER

We have TWO cabins still available for the Christmas Cruise departing 23rd December 2007 in Scotland.



The price is $3,590 (£1890) per person for a stateroom and $3,990 (£2090) per person for the suite (based on 2 sharing each cabin).

Price includes:

• Transfer from Inverness to the barge on Sunday,
• 6 night Christmas Cruise,
• all meals on board catered for by the on board Master Chef,

New Yacht in the Charter Fleet : Sail Matelot this winter

NEW TO THE CHARTER FLEET FOR WINTER 2007/8


s/y MATELOT is an 80-foot Southern Wind sloop chartering this winter in the Caribbean.

A striking Bruce Farr designed deck saloon sloop, MATELOT is in mint condition - virtually a new yacht - having been used only for boat shows since her 2005 launching.

Matelot, with a crew of three, is fully air conditioned and accommodates up to 6 guests in 3 cabins.

The master suite, forward of the saloon, features a king size bed, sitting area, and desk/vanity. The full beam master bath has an exceptionally spacious shower with a glass door and built-in seat.

Aft of the salon are two ensuite guest cabins with twin lower singles (not bunks!). For maximum guest privacy, the crew quarters are all the way aft with separate access to the cockpit.
